Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is defined as chronic, widespread pain throughout the body.

The pain of Fibromyalgia can be triggered by a variety of sources. Many people notice that the time of day, stress, lack of sleep, or even weather can cause the symptoms to be worse.

Fibromyalgia is characterized by specific tender points in the body (including the joints):

  • Back of the Neck
  • Chest
  • Upper Back

Fibromyalgia usually stems from a variety of other conditions such as digestive disorders, headaches, Temporomandibular joint pain (TMJ) dysfunction, depression, chest pain, dry eyes, premenstrual syndrome (PMS), anxiety, and light sensitivity.

Relief from the pain is a challenge for many. Most people who suffer with fibromyalgia resort to taking prescription medication to manage their pain, while others just live with it. Either option reduces your quality and enjoyment of life.
