Health and Universal Laws

If you were to stand on top of a building and jump, you'd fall at 32 feet per second squared and hit the ground at a predictable velocity.  Unless you have a parachute, the outcome is, "splat."  Whether we believe in gravity or not, it always works.
Water boils at 212 degrees.  
Alcohol intoxicates.
Fire burns.
Water drowns.
We understand these universal laws and usually abide by them.  Why not with our health?  The human body isn't any different and is also governed by universal laws.  Most of you know this but the problem is not having the proper road map.  Let's take a couple examples:
1. You're told to eat low-fat, high carbohydrate foods.  You trust these recommendations and follow them.

2. You're told to eat frequent small meals throughout the day.  You trust these recommendations and follow them.

3. You're told you need to exercise 1 hour per day 5-6 days per week and to make sure you get your "cardio in" because it's good for your heart.  You trust these recommendations and follow them.

4. You're told that disease is caused by bad luck and that you are a victim of your genes.  You trust that advice and follow recommendations accordingly.
You get sick, though.
