Are Electronic Cigarettes Safe?
I believe it's wise to read ingredients on any product that's going in or on our bodies. People are ditching traditional cigarettes for electronic cigarettes believing they're a better option, but are they really?
The main ingredient in many electronic cigarette brands is diethylene glycol.
"Diethylene glycol (DEG) is a clear, colorless, practically odorless, viscous, hygroscopic liquid with a sweetish taste. In addition to its use in a wide range of industrial products, it has also been involved in a number of prominent mass poisonings spanning back to 1937. Despite DEG's toxicity and associated epidemics of fatal poisonings, a comprehensive review has not been published."
Diethylene glycol is practically odorless, poisonous and is miscible in water, acetone, ether and ethylene glycol which is why it's a useful ingredient for vaporizing.
